The first time I got to experience a Grey Grey Owl, I was hooked on birding. Their silent flights, their incredible eyes that seem to see right through you...Their gentle calls. They are amazing birds to photograph!
I found this little Northern Sew-Whet Owl very close to home. He was being bugged by several chickadee's, but just wanted to sleep. He was very patient with me while I spent time taking his picture. My hope was that he would open his eyes a little more....but this was as wide as he would go..
I have photographer Great Grey Owls in many different poses, but the best is to capture an owl in flight. The ultimate goal is to capture one flying directly towards you...which this fellow did...his wing even clipped my shoulder!
