Alaska is one of the few places on our planet where you can observe grizzly bears in their natural habitat without feeling that you are invading their home.

My trip took me there at a the time of year when the salmon are plentiful and the bears know that winter is just around the corner. 

It was amazing to experience their world, how they fish and teach their cubs.  Each bear with their own distinctive look and personality.

As the salmon make their way up the many creeks, they provide the necessary food for the bears to bulk up for their winter hibernation.
